PLACER POST

AUGUST 21, 2025

THE MINER WAY:

BE RESPECTFUL . BE RESPONSIBLE . BE READY TO LEARN

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Happy Thursday, Placer Families!

We have had a busy and hot week at Placer! Teachers are getting beginning of the year assessments done so that we can ensure the highest quality education and support for our Miners!

In addition, we are practicing a lot of safety measures this week:
  • new rules for the new playground,
  • fire drill on Friday, and
  • digital citizenship lessons about how to be safe online.

Girls basketball and cross country are starting soon! I can't wait to cheer on our teams!

Thank you for your ongoing support as we navigate a new and exciting school year!

Go Miners!
~Principal Nettnay~

Thank You Volunteers

THREE CHEERS FOR VOLUNTEERS!

We are incredibly grateful to all our parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the start of the school year so memorable. Your time, energy, and support mean the world to our students and staff.

A special thank you as well to everyone who donated supplies such as copy paper, markers, tissues, and more - your generosity makes a big difference in our classrooms every day.

Highlights from the beginning of the year:
  • Back to School Ice Cream Social
  • Staff Welcome Back Luncheon
  • PTC Membership Drive
  • New Playground Ribbon Cutting
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for making it all possible!

ROOM PARENT KICK-OFF MEETING

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND
8:00 AM IN THE PLACER QUAD

Room Parents play an important role in building a strong classroom community and supporting our teachers.

What Does a Room Parent Do?
  • Communication - share classroom and PTC updates with families.
  • Classroom Support - help coordinate volunteers and supplies when needed.
  • Help plan classroom celebrations.
  • Teacher Appreciation - Coordinate group efforts for teacher gifts or appreciation events.

What It’s Not
❌ You don’t have to do everything yourself.
❌ You don’t need to attend every event.
❌ You’re not expected to fund classroom needs personally.

Why Be a Room Parent?
  • Support your child’s classroom experience
  • Get to know other families
